New FootPath for Adlington

A new path was opened in Hibbert Brow Wood on the 21st April 2004 by Barrie Hardern Chairman of the Rights of Way committee, Cheshire County Council.

The path was conceived by W.W. B. Hill Parish councillor and footpath officer.

The Parish Council is very grateful to Mrs C Legh for allowing the path to be made through her land.

The Parish Council is also grateful to United Utilities for use of their land at the pumping station, Cheshire County Council for contributing under the Safer Routes to School, Macclesfield Borough Council for contributing to support public access, Adlington Village Jubilee Committee and Astra Zeneca for financial support.

The idea of the new path is to make a safe route to the Middlewood Way from the School.

Parish Plan

In October 2007 The Parish Council held an open meeting with a view to having a Parish Plan for Adlington. A follow up meeting took place in December of people who were interested. A result of that meeting was the formation of a Parish Plan Steering Group. (PPSG) This Group is now preparing a Plan for Adlington. They sent out a Questionnaire to find out the interests of the Parish.

Adlington School

Adlington School was 100 years old in 2009. To mark this event the school held several special events.
